Anyone that hasn't been living under a rock knows that there have been numerous security breaches in the past. There will continue to be security breaches. If you have not started using a password manager to help yourself use secure passwords, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Using a password manager is the best way to start using long, secure passwords.
The slogan of LastPass, the service that I have been a happy customer of since 2011, is "the last password you'll ever need". And it's true. My only password that is important for me to remember is the password that allows me to access my Lastpass "vault". I've used LastPass' password generator to make sure most of my passwords are 30 character long, randomly generated passwords.
If you aren't using a password manager, start using one right now. And don't forget to start using two-factor authentication. There's a couple apps you can use, including, Authy, Lastpass Authenticator, and Google Authenticator. When you setup a website to use 2FA with one of these apps (or SMS), you will be required to login, not just with your password but also a special code that your phone with show you (either using those apps or through a text message).
